Jacqueline "JD" Denise Richards

CEO and Founder of Expozure Salon & Training Institute

As a little girl, JD Richards watched her grandmother style hair in her home based salon. Years later after meeting her husband, (who is also a stylist) she became fascinated with the beauty industry.  J.D. has been in the hair care industry for 30 years.  She is CEO of Expozure Salon & Training Institute based in her home town of Chattanooga, TN. Her work has been showcased in Ebony, Essence, Black Hair Sophisticate, Jet Magazine and other publications.

She has been an Educator and Stylist for L’Oreal USA for 23 years. Under the brands of Soft-Sheen/Carson, she has trained stylist both domestically and internationally.  In addition she has served as Lead Stylist for the Dark and Lovely national color and relaxer ad campaigns. Her celebrity list consists of Laila Ali, Nia Long, Jennifer Holiday, Gabrielle Union, Star Jones and others. She has worked in the VIP Event Salon for the Steve Harvey Hoodie awards, Idamar Enterprises, Inc., / Spa Odyssey, and the Tom Joyner Foundations Fantastic Voyage Cruise. 

JD is always looking for opportunities to share her talents and passions for the hair care industry with others. She loves teaching and mentoring up and coming stylist.  JD and her niece Chanel created Teen Cosmetologist in the Making (T.C.M.) a camp which inspires girls ages 12 to 17 to take pride in their appearance, to become cosmetologist and savvy salon owners.

After seeing so many women experience the devastating effects of hair loss, J.D. received  her certification in Trichology (the study of hair loss, scalp disorders and nutrition). She desires to help clients have a better understanding of the many complex reasons for hair loss.  She has taken the steps to educate her salon and natural hair community on the benefits of having natural hair through her meet-ups and seminars. JD is an Inspirational Speaker, Author, Natural Hair Artist and Educator. She has been married to her husband Lewis for 23 years.
